On Monday, US Customs and Border Protection alerted us about the narcotics bust that occurred at the Highway 86 checkpoint at 5 p.m. on December 9.
Border Patrol agents from the El Centro Sector seized a 30-year-old American woman after finding cocaine with a street value of nearly $370,000, according to authorities.
After agents checked a black car, it drove into the main area of the checkpoint, raising suspicions.
When a K-9 unit checked the car again, Border Patrol officials found an aftermarket compartment in the back driver’s side that contained ten vacuum-seal packets that tested positive for cocaine.
The driver, a 30-year-old lady, was reportedly turned over to the DEA for further investigation and processing. Along with the car and narcotics, the DEA also got $374,400.
The officials have launched additional investigations.
