Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell, the eldest child of reality TV personality Mama June Shannon, passed away on December 9 due to complications from stage four adrenal cancer.

Mama June Shannon, a reality TV star, announced the sad news on Facebook and Instagram, stating, “With a broken heart, we are making the announcement that ‘Cardwell’ is no longer with us.” She shared a family picture and revealed that Anna passed away at home on December 9 at 11:12 PM after bravely fighting the cancer for ten months.

Anna Marie “Chickadee” Cardwell was born on August28, 1994, to Mama June and her father, David Dunn. She married Michael Cardwell in 2014, and they had a daughter named Kylee Madison in 2015. The couple separated in 2017, and Anna moved back to Georgia with her two young children.

Anna’s battle with stage four adrenal cancer became public earlier in the year, with her younger sister, Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, confirming the diagnosis on social media in March. Despite receiving four rounds of treatment, the cancer proved fatal.

In her last social media update a month ago, Anna mentioned undergoing autoimmune therapy, and her recent radiation therapy went more smoothly than anticipated. She faced the challenging journey with resilience, as described by her sister Thompson, who posted on Instagram, “Anna was and remains a warrior.”

Anna Cardwell’s family gained fame through reality TV shows such as “Toddlers & Tiaras(2012) and the spinoffHere Comes Honey Boo Boo(2012). The family also appeared on shows like “Dr. Phil(2014), “The Doctors(2015), “Mama June: From Not to Hot(2017), “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors(2017), and “The Masked Singer(2021).

Survived by her two daughters, Kaitlyn and Kylee, Anna Cardwell’s legacy endures through her family’s television appearances and the memories they shared on screen.
